The Killer Blue!

The title probably will make you think I am going to write something about the Blueline buses in Delhi.. now that I travel a lot in them!! The killer blueline with those monstrous horns and a villanious smile. And undoubtedly most popular in News channels these days. Or may be the word ‘killer’ is more associated with the killer brand of jeans.. gosh i m shopping too much!! πŸ™‚

What i want to talk here is simply about the colour blue. It is so closely associated with living systems.. the blue sky and the blue ocean are supporters of life. Blue is considered to be an additive primary colour and features among the seven colours of the rainbow. People with blue aura are perceived to be more spiritual and work for the welfare of the society ( I have a third eye u see..!!). Blue is a symbol of divinity, truth and trust. In Hindu mythology, the colour blue is associated with the deities having divine powers. The portrayal of Lord Krishna having dark blue complexion and the blue colour of Lord Shiva’s neck indicating how he gulped the poison to save the world. Blue is inocent and inexperienced. Blue is the colour of self expression-of speech and the ability to communicate our needs and requirements. And it is the colour of that pair of jeans hanging in your wardrobe!!!

But then blue is not all that positive and vibrant. Blue is the colour of bruise. The veins that carry deoxygenated blood in the body appear blue in colour. A Code Blue is often declared in emergency medical situations when the patient is feared to have lost his heartbeat. Blue is cold and lifeless…

Ever wandered why am I so much after the poor ‘Blue’??? Hmmm…. Feeling blue….

  1. The title truly was misleading πŸ˜› Blue almost seems to be the most accepted color… Blue-collared workers… getting beaten black and blue… Picasso’s Blue period… to Blue Rays to Bluetooth… too much of blue arnd! πŸ™‚

PS: If I may guess, is blue the color of Parivartan this time arnd?! πŸ˜‰

  2. @ Naresh,
One colour would hardly suffice to describe Parivartan.Parivartan is a rainbow;a spectrum of events encompassing a range of emotions and colours………Parivartan is about Change…..and the colour of change is best decribed by a kaleidoscope !
