As the nation waited anxiously in anticipation of the finance minister’s budget on Friday,29th February, the Students of Department Of Management Studies,IIT Delhi watched the speech at the NDTV studio.Following this there was an interactive session with Prannoy Roy,on the programme-’The good ,the bad and the ugly’.At the studio along with Mr Roy were eminent persona like Morgan Stanley CIo Mr Ruchir Sharma and Bajaj CMD,Mr Rahul Bajaj.

Firstly the different highlights of the budget were discussed namely the impact to the stock markets, inflation and prices. One of the highlights that was debated was the Rs 60,000 crore loan waiver to farmers. We,the students offered our views and rated the budget at 6.o which coincidentally echoed corporate and stock broker sentiments. With growth rates of over 8%,Our economy is in terrific shape, however,We also pondered on whether enough is being done to sustain this growth in the face of the global turbulence. The present budget does aim for inclusive growth despite bearing the populist tag.
Definitely-A budget to remember…….
