I always wanted to write what Parivartan means to me! Change as they say is the only universal constant.. and the change that i have witnessed in myself in recent past is due to Parivartan. Parivartan to me was a sea of emotions where different moods rose up and down like tides, powered by a gravitational pull, a zeal to make it ‘the best’. Parivartan to me is passion, the thrill and excitement that encompassed not just the three day event but our entire lives in the corporate.
The planning began well before time with a contant push from the senior PARI team as well as the enthusiasm in the new organising team that built up over time.. PARI, as we have been calling it, soon became the one and only thing on mind. The biggest challenge was to carry forward the legacy of conducting the most successfull event of the region and still doing it differently so as to leave a lasting impression. The work allocation, which i believe is the most important part (now that I study and appreciate HR a lot! :D) was done very intelligently by our coordinator. Each one of us is so diverse in talents and they were put to use very appropriately.
One of the major contributors to Parivartan were the event management teams, each of them taking up their responsibility so well and making sure the event goes smooth. But smooth is far fetched word in real life situations. However intense the planning may be, last moment hiccups are bound to be there. There is no dish without that pinch of salt. And success is measured in terms of how well the unexpected situations can be handled. PARI taught me that definitely!
The three day extravaganza gave us an opportunity to interact with the stalwarts of Indian Business as well as personalities from media and students of different business schools across the country. Students are fun to interact with as always. People from different backgrounds bring their own perspectives to situations and make things look so interestingly different. Media is always in a hurry, hurry to come, hurry to leave. But the critical analysis they achieve in those few moments is unmatched. Corporate is very knowledgeable and experienced. The richness of their thoughts speaks for the hard work that they must have done to achieve such heights.
Fun @ Parivartan this year was a new dimension altogether. DMSites on radio was the best part of it. And we have a full time radio in our canteen also. The DJ nite was undoubtedly the most enjoyable of all times. Countless coffees and shaking your leg on the dance floor made a very unique pair!! The third day of Parivartan featuring a discussion with Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Prakash Jha was also very exciting as we got the chance to ask them what we never had asked before. And yes, the decoration day @ DMS before the PARI day rocked! Such talented and creative brains exist in the department (I never knew!!!) that made every one spell bound on having a first look at the building decoration. Kudos to the class!!
Parivartan has essentially become our heart and soul. We talk the Parivartan lingo.. Please ‘forward’ the knife to me, parantha order kar diya, follow up kar varna nahi milegaa!! There is a sign for referring to pari team now! (got to know it very recently!!) And yes ofcourse, the beautiful girls in the team are the Paris themselves! ![]()
Parivartan has to continue, we need to live Parivartan in each and every moment. Year on year, the baton is passed to the junior batch, it becomes the responsibility of the entire department to consolidate these efforts by not just guiding but being a part of the event from the very start. Lets hope to make it bigger and better each time.. Long Live Parivartan!!

Whoa! The legend has it that events in a B-School teach the student more than what the classes do, and here we have a testimony to that.
Months of hardwork, loads of planning, lots of nerves for you and a memory for a lifetime for DMS. Thats what u guys have made Parivartan 2008 to be. Congrats again!
